Meal logging
Meal Photo Logging Checklist and Note Builder
Turn the details visible around a meal photo into a concise, editable note. No image upload or photo analysis.
- Runs only in your browser
- Nothing saved or added to the URL
- No account or email required
Photo context checklist
Add what the photo cannot show
No photo upload or image analysis
Describe only the details you want in the note. Everything stays in this browser tab and is cleared when you leave.
Editable meal note
Copy this as a starting point. Correct anything that does not match what you ate.
Method
A photo is a cue, not the whole meal
The checklist asks for details that are often hard to infer from appearance alone: amount, oils or sauces, drinks, toppings, and whether part of the meal was left or shared.
Only the food description is required. Blank optional fields disappear from the generated note, which is assembled as plain text in your browser.
Limits
This tool does not analyze nutrition
There is no photo upload, computer vision, calorie estimate, nutrient estimate, diagnosis, or scoring. The note contains only what you type.
Even AI image-based dietary methods can struggle with hidden ingredients, portion size, and incomplete views. A systematic review found performance varied by food type, image conditions, reference method, and task.
Treat the note as memory support. Correct it whenever the description does not match what you actually ate.
From a checklist to an ongoing record
Log the photo and correct the details in conversation
Grio can estimate nutrition from a meal photo and lets you reply to correct the foods or amounts. This browser tool does no analysis; it helps you prepare the context worth adding.
