How do I share a Grio card or photo story?
Grio turns the date you are viewing into a shareable image. Card creates a clean summary. Photo places selected Grio data over one of your own photos. Grio does not post anything automatically. The image leaves Grio only after you choose Save, Copy, Share, or Stories.
Open Share from the top bar. You can change the date before choosing what to include.
Card and Photo sharing modes
What can I share in Card mode?
Card mode groups the available summaries into four subjects:
- Today: the day’s rings or Missions.
- Meals: calories, Nutrition Score, and macronutrients from the selected day.
- Health: daily Stress, the recent Stress distribution, the time and weekday with the highest Stress reading, and Body Age.
- Trends: available changes over the last 30 days.
Swipe sideways to move between cards within Today or Health. Cards with data come first. Health cards that need more history move to the end and say Not enough data yet instead of showing a zero or inventing a result. If a subject has no shareable reading at all, its export actions remain unavailable.
Use Style to choose no background or Grio’s background, then select light or dark ink. The exported card includes the Grio mark and the date. Press and hold a card to open the same export actions directly.
How do I create a photo story in Photo mode?
Choose Photo to pick an image from your library. Grio keeps the photo’s natural shape. If it is unusually wide or tall, Grio limits the extreme edge to reduce cropping in common sharing destinations.
Add up to four Grio elements from any subject. Depending on the available data, an element can be a big number, a compact chip, or a full card.
- Drag an element to position it.
- Pinch it to change its size.
- Tap it to switch between light and dark ink.
- Drag it below the photo into the delete area to remove it.
If a big-number or chip fact is unavailable, you cannot select that shape. A full Health card remains available and explains when it needs more data.
Where can I send the shared image?
Each action creates the same PNG and sends it to a different destination:

A no-background Card is placed into Instagram Stories as a sticker on Grio’s gradient. Cards with a background and Photo compositions fill the Story background instead.
Does sharing upload or change my Grio data?
No. Grio renders the share image on your device and does not change the records shown in the app. Grio uses a temporary local cache while you compose and deliver it, then removes the temporary export from that cache. Saving, copying, or sending the image creates a copy in the destination you chose; that copy is controlled by your device or the receiving app.
A share image can contain health, nutrition, workout, or habit information. Check the date, values, photo background, and audience before sending it. Share cards summarize what Grio already has; they do not diagnose a condition or prove why a Stress reading was high.

How do I share the finished image?
- Open Share and confirm the date.
- Choose Card or Photo.
- Pick a subject and card, or add and arrange photo elements.
- Check that the image shows only what you intend to reveal.
- Save, copy, share, or send it to Stories.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
- Why is a Health card at the end of the carousel?
- Health cards with enough data come first. A card that still needs more history moves to the end and says that there is not enough data yet. If the entire Health subject is empty, Grio shows one empty state and disables the export actions.
- Why do I not see the Stories button?
- Grio shows Stories only when Instagram is installed and direct Stories sharing is available on the device. You can still save the image or use Share to choose Instagram from the system share sheet.
- Does sharing change or upload my Grio records?
- No. Grio renders a PNG from the records already shown in the app. Creating a card does not edit those records or upload an extra copy to Grio. The destination you choose receives the image and handles it under its own privacy terms.
