Grio AI and Health Data Disclosure
How Grio uses third-party AI services and optional Apple Health-derived data for personalized wellness coaching.
Last updated: 2026-06-20
Data Processed by AI
For personalized coaching, Grio may include the user's name, goals, body profile, meal and activity records, ritual answers, chat context, and daily summaries derived from Apple Health in AI requests. Raw HealthKit samples, product analytics events, and payment ledgers are not included in AI requests.
AI Processors and Purposes
Grio's policy is to use API or business configurations that do not permit submitted personal or health-adjacent inputs to be used to train providers' general AI models.
Consent Timing
Users see the AI data-use consent screen during onboarding before their account is saved. Personal or health-adjacent data needed for personalized coaching should not be sent to third-party AI services before consent. If processors or purposes materially change, Grio will update the in-app disclosure and Privacy Policy.
Apple Health Fallback
Apple Health connection is optional. If the user skips or revokes permission, Grio provides a reasonable fallback coaching experience based on ritual answers, manually entered meals and activities, and manual weight records.
Important Notice
Grio is not a medical device or emergency monitoring tool. AI coaching is for wellness purposes and does not replace diagnosis, treatment, prescription, or emergency judgment.
